Crafting the Prose Poem with Julie Gard
October 13 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm| $20.00
Writers working in any genre can benefit from learning how to “go short” and create resonance and meaning in a paragraph or two that is its own coherent piece. Participants will work with elements of poetry, fiction, and nonfiction during a series of writing exercises, with time for sharing and feedback. Participants will leave the workshop with prose poem drafts or seeds, along with reading suggestions and ideas for where to submit their own flash work. Julie Gard is an associate professor of writing at the University of Wisconsin-Superior who has published several poetry collections, one of which was a finalist for the 2016 Minnesota Book Award.
