Conversations with My Own Critter – neuroaesthetic art by Craig A. Lund
The First Stage Gallery in the Lyric Center for the Arts will be featuring artwork by Craig Lund during the month of October. The exhibit titled, “Conversations with My Own Critter” is a series of drawings, representing a unique volume of work that both precedes and supports the new and expanding field of “Neuroaesthetics.”“Neuroaesthetics is a recently recognized scientific field of inquiry that attempts to correlate brain behavior with aesthetic behavior using neural bases for comtemplation and creation of art work,” says Lund. “The images in this exhibit are relevant to this inquiry in that they explore the idea that differences in the right and left sides of a picture may also represent differences between the two hemispheres of the brain with regard to aesthetic problem solving.”
Lund’s work will be in the gallery through October 27. Regular gallery hours are Thursdays through Saturdays, 11am – 3pm. The First Stage Gallery is located at 510 Chestnut Street, downtown Virginia, MN.
