YOU ARE INVITED to the Lyric Youth Arts Program OPEN HOUSE!
September 12 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
YOU ARE INVITED! Join us for the Lyric Youth Arts Program Open House! Come hear the plans and exciting possibilities, meet Lindsey Frisk, the Lyric Youth Arts Program Coordinator, bring your questions, concerns and/or ideas as we explore and create opportunities for Youth Arts from the ground up!
Special funding from the Blandin Foundation and the Northland Foundation has made it possible to hire a Youth Arts Program Coordinator to develop this valuable program for our community. We intend to provide a safe after-school program for children grades K-12 giving them an outlet to express themselves freely through arts focused events. We plan to bring in Minnesota based artists (of all areas) to share their skills with youth grades K-12. Some of our programs will emphasize dynamic teaching tactics such as hands-on learning, apprentice relationships, and the use of technology. By effectively engaging youth through the arts, we seek to provide opportunities resulting in improved self-esteem, increased skills, and improved school or work behavior. Art in all forms possess a positive communication tool, teaching children and adults that there are alternative and acceptable ways to express themselves.
Please bear with us as we develop this program in the midst of a global pandemic. We will cooperate with all COVID-19 guidelines given by Governor Walz and the CDC. Though changes and challenges are anticipated along the way, rest assured the Lyric’s goal will always be to make the safety of the children, families, artists, educators, public and staff a priority. Check out the calendar of youth scheduled programs as more events are added; we look forward to seeing you at the Open House!
